Rachesky Residence

  • The project scope is to design a residence for Robert Rachesky (0000-0000) and Sylvia Rachesky (0000-0000).

  • The project is also known as ‘Architecture in Suburbia #3’

  • According to Goldfinger, the program is “a one-story residence for [a] middle age couple with older children which will also serve for future retirement on wooded suburban property.”

  • The design, according to Goldfinger, is “a strong interior visual impact with maximum convenience within a relatively conservative exterior. Tri-part plan consisting of a large central living space with bedroom wing at one end and work space and garage at the other. Visually private façade facing road and open to woods in rear. Dramatic high central living space with linear skylight, large fireplace, and sunken seating arrangement forming a strong integrated design composition. Contrasts with low-ceilinged entertainment alcoves. Elaborate master bedroom facilities.”
